Set in the same world as the animated adventure, Outright Games says that it will combine the colorful art direction of that feature film with “energetic ninja teamwork” gameplay with a humorous narrative.

Players will be able to take control of the Turtles, interact with characters from the films, and clash with mutant villains like Rocksteady. Outright Games says that it is aiming to release its Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game–which is officially licensed by TMNT owner Nickelodeon–in 2024 on unspecified consoles and PC.

“Nickelodeon is one of our longest-standing licensing collaborators and we’re overjoyed to have the opportunity to bring the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to life in a brand new and original video game,” Outright Games COO Stephanie Malham said in a press statement. “This is one of the most enduring and beloved franchises in the world and we’re beyond excited to use our expertise to expand the Turtles’ global reach even further through the world of video games.”

The last few years have seen several TMNT video games and collaborations, from retro-inspired games like Shredder’s Revenge to remasters of the classic Konami games in the Cowabunga Collection. Ahead of its release earlier this year, several TMNT promotions were held in games like Street Fighter 6, Session: Skate Sim, and Minecraft. Before those appearances, the Turtles also popped up in Injustice 2, Brawhalla, and even Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5.

Outright Games has published several video game adaptations of animated IP over the years, focusing on popular cartoon series like Ben 10, Paw Patrol, Transformers, Justice League, and more. The company also released Peppa Pig: World Adventures earlier this year, a game with an incredibly wild plot twist.
